Sean Beirne has been eliminated from the race for Roscommon Co. Co. The Strokestown man
was one of the straightest most down to earth men I knew on the County Council.
Sean was and is a real nice guy with no airs and graces. A fantastic man to
shorten a journey and a real store of great information.
Agriculture was close to Sean, knowledge of horticulture was
something he had and he oozed common sense. Education was also important as he
served on the VEC and enjoyed it. He served as mayor of the county and was a
great ambassador for Percy French and Douglas Hyde. Two great Roscommon men.
A great man for a bet, a Councillor who’ll be missed is how I’ll
describe him.
